Project team. Light art installation.
Designed by Balmond Studio for the Alaska Crime Lab, this installation is “an abstracted time piece derived from prime number and code sequences”.
The sculpture is built up by 24 metal poles with 206 light units, individually addressed and separately controlled to allow for a sense of 'movement of light' within the sculpture itself. It was specially designed for this context, in response to the intense variations of natural light that characterize it throughout the year.
